Two Lima residents face felony burglary charges after an armed homeowner interrupted a break-in Sunday night at a residence in the town of Richmond, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Alexandria Leida Mosher, 19, and Dominick J. Wood, 22, were taken into custody without incident after responding around 9 p.m. Aug. 9 to 3971 Oneill Road for a reported burglary in progress.
The homeowner told 911 dispatchers that the two people were being held at gunpoint while deputies were on the way, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Investigators said the homeowner had fired at and disabled the tires of an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway. Deputies said Mosher and Wood came out of the residence with their arms raised after hearing the gunfire and remained at the scene until law enforcement arrived.
Items from the residence were found in Mosher and Wood's possession as they exited, the sheriff's office alleged.
Both were charged with second-degree burglary and taken to the Ontario County Jail. They were arraigned through centralized arraignment and released on pretrial supervision, deputies said.
