Women's Rights National Historical Park will host three days of free ranger programs, living history, music and family activities during Equality Weekend from Aug. 21 through 23.
Programs will take place at the park's Visitor Center and Wesleyan Chapel in Seneca Falls and the M'Clintock House in Waterloo. All activities are free and open to the public.
Friday's schedule includes ranger programs at the M'Clintock House and Wesleyan Chapel, a drop-in table talk about Amelia Bloomer's move west and a free Terra String Quartet performance from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the chapel.
The quartet performance, presented through the Skaneateles Festival Outreach Program, will focus on equality, women's rights and human connection through music.
On Saturday and Sunday, living-history interpreter Melinda Grube will portray Elizabeth Cady Stanton at 10 a.m. at the M'Clintock House and at 1 p.m. at Wesleyan Chapel. The programs explore Stanton's fight for equality, her role in organizing the 1848 Women's Rights Convention and the drafting of the Declaration of Sentiments.
Additional weekend programs include "Revolutionary Roots" talks about the organizers of the 1848 convention, "Radical Hospitality" programs about Thomas and Mary Ann M'Clintock and afternoon table talks about Amelia Bloomer.
All-weekend activities include an "Equali-tea" wish wall, make-and-take crafts, a Junior Ranger activity book and scavenger hunt, and on-demand screenings of the park film "Dreams of Equality."
The Visitor Center and Wesleyan Chapel will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The M'Clintock House will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House will be closed during the weekend.
