The Hobart and William Smith Annual Fund raised more than $3 million from 3,215 donors during the fundraising year that ended June 30.
The college said contributions came from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and other supporters. Annual fund gifts can be used immediately for financial aid, academic programs, athletics and other student resources.
Unlike donations restricted to a specific building or program, annual fund contributions support general institutional needs.
Jared Weeden, vice president for advancement, said the result reflected participation from thousands of donors rather than a single gift or initiative.
