Firefighters from several Cayuga County departments responded Friday morning to a reported garage fire on Dwyer Road, according to the Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire.
Crews from Montezuma, Cayuga and Port Byron were dispatched to the scene, with Throop and Auburn City Ambulance also responding.
The Fire Wire reported that a Port Byron chief arrived to find light smoke showing and later determined there was a small fire inside a wall.
Additional units, including a Cayuga engine and Throop apparatus, responded while Port Byron maintained incident command.
The fire was extinguished, and crews remained at the scene for overhaul to check for hidden fire and hot spots.
The initial report did not include information about injuries, the extent of damage or what caused the fire.
