Canandaigua firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to a chicken coop fire on Gorham Street that spread to a nearby building.
Engine 212 and Truck 281 were dispatched to the scene, where crews discovered the fire had extended beyond the coop into an adjacent structure.
Firefighters placed two hose lines into operation to bring the fire under control.
Members of Truck 281 also searched the neighboring building after the extension was discovered.
Canandaigua Professional Firefighters Local 2098 did not report any injuries or release additional information about the extent of the damage.
The cause of the fire was not included in the department’s initial account.
