A Canandaigua woman faces felony burglary and petit larceny charges after Ontario County sheriff’s deputies said she stole merchandise from Walmart while barred from the retailer’s properties.
Courtney Simpson, 30, was taken into custody Aug. 1 following an investigation into a July 31 theft at the Canandaigua store.
Deputies said Simpson took merchandise valued at $208.89. Investigators said she had previously been trespassed from all Walmart properties, resulting in a third-degree burglary charge in addition to petit larceny.
Simpson was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment in centralized arraignment court, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
