A Lyons man faces misdemeanor charges after deputies said he ran from them and resisted arrest during an encounter Thursday evening on Geneva Street.
Jonathan K. Tarver, 37, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and failure to use an available sidewalk, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they approached Tarver at about 7:30 p.m. because he was not using a provided sidewalk. They alleged he ran after being ordered to stop, leading deputies on a short foot pursuit.
Tarver allegedly resisted as deputies tried to take him into custody. The sheriff's office said he was arrested without further incident.
Tarver was released with an appearance ticket for a later date in Lyons Town Court. The charges are accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
