A Canandaigua man was taken into custody at the Ontario County Jail after police executed a bench warrant stemming from a missed court appearance on a criminal contempt charge.
The City of Canandaigua Police Department said Dontae Cobb, 21, was arrested around 7:57 p.m. July 11 at the jail. The warrant was issued after Cobb failed to appear in court on a charge of second-degree criminal contempt. He was held for arraignment.
Second-degree criminal contempt generally involves violating a court order of protection or engaging in conduct prohibited by a court-issued order.
No additional information about the underlying criminal contempt case was released.
