Seneca Falls man charged with menacing, child endangerment

Seneca Falls man charged with menacing, child endangerment

A Seneca Falls man was charged Sunday night after police said he menaced another person with a knife during an altercation while two children were nearby.

Ryan J. Smith, 40, was charged with second-degree menacing and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all Class A misdemeanors, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.

Police arrested Smith around 10:57 p.m. July 26. The department did not release additional details about the altercation or the ages of the children.

Smith was processed at the Seneca Falls Police Department and taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Police said an order of protection was requested for the victims.
