Lake House on Canandaigua executive pastry chef John Bard is competing in the Favorite Chef competition, according to the Canandaigua Messenger. Online voting in the current round closes Thursday night.
Bard is known locally for desserts at the Lake House and for large holiday gingerbread displays at the Canandaigua Lake resort.
The competition is hosted by Food Network personality Carla Hall and supports the James Beard Foundation.
Bard was in third place in his group during the quarterfinal round.
The winner will appear in Taste of Home magazine, cook with Hall on Chewed Up and receive $25,000.
