A Hornell church will conclude its 175th anniversary celebration this week with a sand sculpture and a Mass led by the bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, according to the Hornell Tribune. St. Ann's Church has been marking its Jubilee since July 2025.
Artist Eric Jones is scheduled to create an 8-foot sand sculpture of the church July 23 and 24.
The public can watch the work across the street from the church at 27 Erie Avenue.
Bishop John S. Bonnici will celebrate Mass at 10:45 in the morning on July 26.
A luncheon will follow at The Main Place, where historical photographs and church archive items will be displayed.
