Newfield Old Home Days will return July 24 and 25 after last year’s cancellation, according to The Tompkins Weekly. The century-old festival will be held on the school grounds with fireworks, a parade, food vendors, live music and carnival games.
The festival was canceled last year because of renovation work tied to the Newfield Central School District’s capital project.
This year’s event starts at 5 p.m. Friday with a pie baking contest, live music, a Cornell raptors exhibit and children’s activities.
Saturday’s parade begins at 11 a.m. and will travel along Main Street from Tioga State Bank to the school campus.
Organizers said new activities for teenagers include a slip-and-slide bounce house, relay races, circus lessons, and a youth DJ and open mic tent.
