Rochester-based GreenSpark Solar has been ranked the top solar installer in New York for the second consecutive year by industry publication Solar Power World.
The company also placed first among engineering, procurement and construction contractors in New York, seventh nationally in that category for community solar work and 65th on the publication's overall 2026 Top Solar Contractors list.
The annual list includes more than 400 solar and energy storage installation companies. Rankings are organized by service, market and state using the amount of solar capacity companies installed in 2025.
GreenSpark said it installed more than 61 megawatts of solar capacity in 2025 for community solar sites, commercial institutions and homeowners. The company said its installation volume during the first six months of 2026 was 36% higher than its total volume for all of 2025.
The company also reported a 42% increase in completed residential rooftop volume in 2025 and said commercial rooftop installations grew from the previous year.
GreenSpark has more than 150 full-time employees and works across the Northeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. The company, founded in 2002, said it has installed solar, battery and wind energy systems in New York, Vermont, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and recently expanded its contracting services into Maryland, Connecticut and Illinois.
Solar Power World Managing Editor Billy Ludt said companies on the list have continued adapting to policy and supply challenges. The publication said more than 72% of listed companies have at least 10 years of experience in the solar industry.
GreenSpark CEO Kevin Schulte said the recognition comes as the company approaches its 25th anniversary. The 2026 list marks GreenSpark's fifth consecutive appearance among Solar Power World's top contractors.
