A Bath man faces a felony charge after New York State Police investigators said they found approximately 1,555 images and videos of child sexual abuse material on electronic devices seized from a local residence.
Daniel E. White, 32, of Bath was arrested without incident July 17 following an investigation involving the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Bath barracks and the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit.
Police said the investigation began in April 2024 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided information about child sexual abuse material being shared through a social media platform.
The investigation led troopers to a residence in the town of Bath. On Feb. 25, 2025, police seized multiple electronic devices for forensic examination.
Investigators said the devices were analyzed at the New York State Police Computer Forensics Laboratory, where the files were discovered on several devices.
White was charged with felony possession of a sexual performance by a child. He was processed at the State Police barracks in Bath and taken to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.
