Lyons man charged with cocaine possession after parole search

A 49-year-old Lyons man was charged July 18 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after cocaine was allegedly found during a May search of his home, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said State Parole officers searched Michael A. Irizarry’s residence on Geneva Street in Lyons on May 23 and found suspected narcotics, which were turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.

Laboratory testing later identified the substance as cocaine.

Irizarry was arrested at the Wayne County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges. He was issued an appearance ticket and returned to jail staff.
