Law enforcement officials in Wayne County say an investigation is underway after human remains were found by kayakers last week.
A group of kayakers were at Blind Sodus Bay on Saturday, when they found a human foot inside a hiking book near the bay’s break wall.
According to officials, the remains were recovered and sent to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Both U.S. and Canadian law enforcement are involved in the investigation. At this point, the remains have not yet been identified.
