NouNou’s opens in Lansing bringing authentic Lao-Thai food to area

NouNou's Authentic Lao-Thai has opened in Lansing's Triphammer Marketplace, according to Tompkins Weekly. Owner Douangdao Visonnavong, known as NouNou, moved to the Ithaca area from Laos in 2007 and previously worked at Tamarind Thai.

The restaurant opened in June next to Longshots Sports Bar & Grill and serves Thai dishes alongside Lao specialties that Visonnavong says are hard to find locally.

The menu includes Lao dishes such as laap and bamboo soup, along with Thai options including khao soi. Visonnavong said staffing, especially in the kitchen, remains her biggest challenge.
