An electrical fire beneath a residential trailer in Fleming was extinguished within 10 minutes of dispatch, limiting damage and causing no injuries, according to the Fleming Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:41 p.m. after an active fire was reported underneath the structure, and a fire officer confirmed a small fire under the rear of the trailer four minutes later.
Engine 2, Engine 3, TP-2 and RP-1 responded. An Engine 2 crew stretched a handline to the rear, removed paneling and put out the fire.
Damage was contained to the underside of the structure, with minimal damage reported inside. Crews ventilated the residence before turning it back over to the homeowner and Town of Fleming code enforcement.

The department said the fire was electrical in origin. All units had cleared the scene by 8 p.m.
The Owasco, Aurelius, Sennett and Scipio fire departments provided mutual aid, along with Four Town Ambulance. The Cayuga County Office of Emergency Services and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
The call was the second fire that Fleming’s RP-1 unit responded to within an hour. The unit had also provided mutual aid to Aurora for a separate residential structure fire in that district.
