An Auburn man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police said a domestic incident left a victim injured early Monday.
Christopher K. Barnwell, 26, was arrested after Auburn police responded to a reported domestic incident with injuries in the city at about 12:56 a.m. July 6.
Police said officers learned Barnwell had forcefully taken a cellphone from the victim and struck the person in the head during the incident.
The victim was taken to Auburn Community Hospital for treatment, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Officers later found Barnwell in Auburn and took him into custody without further incident.
Barnwell was charged with third-degree robbery, a class D felony; aggravated family offense, a class E felony; and attempted third-degree assault, a class B misdemeanor.
Police said Barnwell was transported to the Cayuga County Jail and held pending arraignment.
People charged by police are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
