NY-513 Continuum of Care opens HUD funding competition

Organizations serving people experiencing homelessness in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties have until July 15 to apply for funding through the NY-513 Continuum of Care's local competition.

The local application process opened after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released its fiscal year 2026 Continuum of Care Program funding notice, according to the Finger Lakes Area Counseling & Recovery Agency.

The annual competition is open to organizations seeking new or renewal funding through HUD's Continuum of Care Program. The program supports projects aimed at preventing and ending homelessness through coordinated housing and supportive services across the four-county NY-513 Continuum of Care region.

Funding opportunities are available for permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing, transitional housing, supportive services only, street outreach, the Homeless Management Information System and coordinated entry projects.

Eligible nonprofit organizations, government entities and other qualified applicants are being encouraged to review the requirements and submit proposals. The full request for proposals, application materials, required forms, reallocation process and appeals process are available through FLACRA's NY-513 Continuum of Care page.

Completed applications must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. Applications should be sent to Bob Doeblin of the Geneva Housing Authority at rdoeblin@genevaha.com.

After the deadline, applications will go through the NY-513 Continuum of Care's local review process. Projects will be evaluated, scored and ranked under the Continuum's established policies before a final project priority list is submitted to HUD as part of the fiscal year 2026 competition.
