Two people were found dead after an early-morning house fire Thursday in the Town of Dryden, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency crews were called around 12:21 a.m. to the 300 block of Lake Road for a reported structure fire.
First responders found one person dead at the scene. A second victim was later found inside the home.
Authorities have not released the victims’ names pending positive identification and family notification.
The Dryden Fire Department, Dryden Ambulance and sheriff’s deputies responded to the fire.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing and asked the public to avoid the area while emergency crews continue their work.
