A Dryden mobile home park owner faces animal cruelty charges after officials said poisoned cat food was found around the property, according to 14850. Authorities said the case involves more than 30 cans of wet food laced with rat poison pellets.
John Kaufmann, 62, was charged Thursday by Tompkins County Animal Control officers with help from the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said one dog was treated at Cornell University Hospital for Animals. Pet owners who suspect an animal ate tainted food were urged to seek veterinary care immediately.
