Corning man jailed as fugitive from justice on strangulation charge

A Corning man was sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail after deputies arrested him on a fugitive from justice charge tied to a Pennsylvania warrant, according to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Jim Allard said Michael A. Trussell, 34, of Caton Road in Corning, was arrested June 26 after deputies received a report of an active warrant from Pennsylvania.

Authorities said Trussell is wanted in Pennsylvania for failing to appear on a strangulation charge.

He was charged in Steuben County as a fugitive from justice, according to the sheriff's office.

Trussell was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail to await extradition.
