Every child in Cayuga County could receive $250 from Micron as the chipmaker expands its Central New York footprint, according to The Citizen.
The company will make one-time deposits into Trump Accounts for children in Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego counties. The investment accounts will convert to IRAs when children turn 18.
Micron employees can also receive matching contributions of up to $1,000 per child. The program comes as Micron prepares its massive Clay manufacturing project, expected to create 9,000 company jobs and more than 40,000 related jobs.
