A Sodus man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after deputies said he drove more than 95 mph while they tried to catch up to him on Route 104.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Michael J. Frank, 56, was arrested at about 9:37 p.m. June 26 after a traffic stop on Route 104 in the town of Sodus.
Deputies said Frank was traveling 67 mph in a posted 40 mph zone and later exceeded 95 mph in a posted 55 mph zone as deputies attempted to catch up to his vehicle.
Frank was charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, operating with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, reckless driving, speeding, speeding in a 55 mph zone, having an open container, unlicensed operation and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Deputies said they observed several signs of intoxication during the investigation. Frank was given standardized field sobriety tests and then placed under arrest.
Frank was taken to the Wayne County Jail to await CAP Court, according to the sheriff's office.
