Sodus man charged with DWI after Route 88 crash in Arcadia

A Sodus man was charged with driving while intoxicated after deputies said he hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Route 88 in Arcadia early June 20.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Rayquan Baldwin, 22, was arrested after deputies responded to the crash at about 2:42 a.m. Deputies said Baldwin was driving on Route 88 when he struck a legally parked vehicle on the side of the road.

Baldwin was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, moving from a lane unsafely, having an open container and operating an uninspected vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Baldwin was not injured. During the investigation, deputies reported seeing signs of intoxication, and Baldwin was arrested after standardized field sobriety tests.

Baldwin was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing, where a chemical breath test showed a .11% BAC, deputies said. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
