According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could get a bigger battery. The upcoming Rugged smartwatch is now rumored to feature a much larger battery than the current Galaxy Watch Ultra. Reports suggest that Samsung may use a 784mAh rated battery, which could be marketed close to 800mAh. If the reports are right, it would be a major jump from the 590mAh battery used in the previous model of the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Why The Bigger Battery Leak Matters
The bigger battery leak matters because every user wants a extended battery life in their smartwatch for longer sessions and daily workouts. The current Galaxy Watch Ultra already offers strong battery life compared with many Wear OS watches, but heavy users still want more. Features like GPS tracking, LTE, Always-On Display, sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring can drain the battery quickly. If the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 really gets a battery close to 800mAh, it may become one of the longest-lasting premium smartwatches running Wear OS.

Expected Battery Life Improvements
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may also have an improved real-world battery life thanks to a bigger battery. The current Galaxy Watch Ultra already lasts quite well in power-saving mode, but regular use of the Always On Display, GPS and health tracking can cut into the battery. A larger battery could power the watch longer without turning off key features. Real battery life, however, depends on display brightness, LTE usage, GPS activity, app usage and software optimization. The size of a battery alone does not determine its optimal performance.
