High school students enrolled in select Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES career and technical education programs will now have a faster route to earning a bachelor’s degree through new articulation agreements with Keuka College.
The agreements, announced by Keuka College this week, allow qualified students in graphic media production and criminal justice programs to earn college credits while still in high school, creating a streamlined pathway into related degree programs at the college.
Under the partnership, students enrolled in the two-year Graphic Media Production program at the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center in Stanley can earn up to six credits toward a bachelor’s degree in Art and Design or Visual Communication Design at Keuka College. The programs prepare students for careers in fields including graphic design, digital media, fashion and industrial design.
Students who complete Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES’ Criminal Justice program at either the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center or the Wayne Technical and Career Center in Williamson can earn up to 12 credits toward a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Credit eligibility will be based on students’ high school grade-point averages.
Keuka College Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness Carol Lugg said the agreements reflect a shared commitment to expanding access to career-focused educational opportunities throughout the region.
College officials said the partnerships are designed to help students transition more smoothly from technical education programs into higher education while reducing the time and cost required to earn a degree. The agreements also connect students to Keuka College’s Field Period internship program, which provides hands-on professional experience through annual placements.
Brittany Atkinson, principal of the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center, said the agreements provide students with an early start on both higher education and workforce preparation in competitive career fields.
Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES serves 25 school districts across five counties and offers a variety of career and technical education programs designed to prepare students for college, industry certifications and direct entry into the workforce.
