A domestic dispute investigation in the Town of Palmyra resulted in the arrest of a local man on a harassment charge, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Matthew E. O’Brien, 40, of Palmyra was arrested June 13 following an investigation into an incident that deputies say occurred earlier that day.
According to the sheriff’s office, O’Brien allegedly forcefully grabbed the victim’s right wrist during the dispute before taking the victim’s cellphone from her hand. As a result of the investigation, he was charged with harassment in the second degree.
O’Brien was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he was held pending centralized arraignment proceedings.
The investigation was conducted by Deputy L. Osipovitch of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
