Auburn residents will once again have access to Casey Park Pool this summer after city officials approved funding needed to operate the facility.
The Auburn City Council voted to accept a $16,000 donation from the Auburn YMCA to cover lifeguard services and a $15,000 contribution from Wegmans to support pool operations, clearing the way for the pool to reopen for the 2026 season. The funding package was approved unanimously by council members.
The pool is tentatively scheduled to open July 10 and operate for four weeks. Planned hours are 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Auburn YMCA CEO Scott Sincerbeaux said the organization advocated for reopening the pool and worked with partners to help secure funding. The YMCA’s contribution will provide lifeguard staffing, while the Wegmans grant will help cover operational costs.
Officials said reopening the pool will provide Auburn children and families with a safe place to swim and cool off during the summer months, continuing a longstanding community resource at Casey Park.
