Victor man charged after deputies find stolen vehicle near Chimney Bluffs

A suspicious vehicle near Chimney Bluffs State Park led to the arrest of a Victor man on felony stolen property charges, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas M. Tyman, 27, of Deer Creek Road in Victor, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and tampering with physical evidence following an investigation in the Town of Huron. Deputies said they responded to a suspicious condition and determined Tyman had allegedly been driving a vehicle reported stolen from the city of Syracuse.

According to investigators, the vehicle ran out of gas and Tyman allegedly discarded the keys before leaving the area on foot. Deputies later located him walking away from the vehicle on Garner Road.

Tyman was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charges in court at a later date.
