Boaters on Seneca Lake have regained access to one of the area’s public launch sites after work at the Severne Point Boat Launch was completed ahead of schedule.
The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association announced Friday that the launch has officially reopened to the public after the dock was repositioned and returned to service. The project had faced delays because of elevated lake levels, but officials said a local contractor helped accelerate the work and restore access about a week earlier than expected.
The reopening marks the return of public access to the launch site as the summer boating season gets underway. Officials credited cooperation between the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and local community partners for helping complete the project more quickly than anticipated.
The association encouraged boaters to remain aware of changing lake conditions and water levels throughout the season while enjoying renewed access to the launch.
The Severne Point Boat Launch is now fully open for public use.
