An Ontario County woman is facing a felony charge after deputies say she used another person’s debit card without permission to make thousands of dollars in purchases.
The investigation began Thursday when Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported larceny at a residence on South Street in the Town of Seneca. According to investigators, the victim reported unauthorized transactions made using their debit card.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Andrea M. Lazauskas, 49, of Farmington, allegedly used the victim’s debit card for numerous transactions without authorization.
Authorities said the transactions totaled approximately $6,317.86.
Lazauskas was arrested and charged with first-degree identity theft, a felony. She was transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office CAP Court for processing.
After processing, Lazauskas was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge at a future date in Seneca Town Court.
