A Wayne County man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation into a disturbance that occurred earlier this spring in the Town of Wolcott.
Cory L. Chase, 36, of Eddie Road in Wolcott, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree attempted robbery, second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing and two counts of petit larceny. Deputies said the charges stem from an incident that occurred May 5.
According to investigators, Chase allegedly entered a residence, caused more than $1,500 in property damage, stole items from the home and threatened the use of a weapon in an attempt to take property by force.
Chase was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment on the charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
