Police Chief Matthew Nielsen wants the city to buy a police e-bike to help officers enforce traffic laws, especially along Main Street. He said riders under 16 can’t legally operate many of the devices, and officers often struggle to stop riders who leave the road.

City Council still needs to approve the purchase. Members could vote on the proposal at their June 15 meeting.
