Police said the arrest followed a traffic stop in which Pond was allegedly observed speeding and following another vehicle too closely. An investigation determined he was intoxicated, and authorities said a chemical test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.13%.

Pond was issued uniform traffic tickets for speeding, following too closely, driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater. He is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
