A public push for more jobs in Geneva sparked a sharp response from Ontario County’s economic development director, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Ryan Davis rejected suggestions that the county favors western Ontario County and said Geneva continues to receive the same support as every other community.
Davis argued that uncertainty and resistance to projects drives developers elsewhere, pointing to concerns about lengthy approval processes and proposals that never move forward. Geneva officials had recently called for more industrial development after noting stronger growth in other parts of the county.
Mayor Jim Cecere defended the county’s efforts and said Davis and his team remain actively involved in local housing and economic development projects. City leaders plan to keep working with the county as discussions continue about bringing more jobs and investment to Geneva.
