Local seniors will have an opportunity later this month to see the Tony Award-nominated musical “Anastasia” during a day trip organized by the Sodus Go-Getters and Destinations Tours and Travel.
The trip is scheduled for June 24 and includes motorcoach transportation, a theater ticket to the Geva Theatre production in Rochester, driver gratuity and lunch at Atlantic Restaurant before the performance.
Based on the animated film and subsequent Broadway adaptation, “Anastasia” follows a young woman named Anya as she travels from Soviet Russia to Paris in search of her past while others attempt to convince the Dowager Empress that she is the long-lost Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov.
The bus will depart from the Sodus municipal parking lot at 10:30 a.m., with lunch scheduled before the 2 p.m. performance. The group is expected to return to Sodus around 5:15 p.m.
The cost is $129 per person based on a group of 24 participants. Organizers said reservations must be made by June 9, and payments should be made payable to Sodus Go-Getters.
