Lansing officials have taken another step toward overhauling the town’s development fees, according to Tompkins Weekly. The Town Board approved a $9,270 contract with Delaney CMS to study planning and land-use charges and recommend a long-term fee schedule.
Town leaders say the current fee structure needs updating to reflect modern development patterns and better align with neighboring communities. The study will examine charges tied to site plans, special permits, subdivisions, stormwater reviews, zoning appeals and other development-related applications.
Delaney CMS is expected to complete its recommendations by the end of August. The Town Board also appointed representatives from the Lansing Central School District to the Zoning Advisory Committee as work continues on a broader update of the town’s zoning code.
