Treasure hunters, bargain shoppers and garage sale enthusiasts will have plenty of opportunities to browse this weekend as Weedsport’s annual village-wide garage sale returns Saturday.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. June 6 and will feature sales throughout the village as residents set out unwanted items, collectibles, household goods and other secondhand finds.
Organizers say the event has become a popular community tradition that draws visitors from across the area in search of unique bargains and hidden treasures. Shoppers can expect to find everything from books and toys to antiques, home décor and vintage items.
The Girl Scouts will host a sale on the front lawn of the Weedsport United Methodist Church featuring retro Cabbage Patch dolls, holiday decorations and other items. Organizers also noted that a limited number of vendor spaces remained available through the Weedsport Library as of this week, with tables available for $20.
The village-wide event is expected to continue throughout the day, with individual sales operating until sellers decide to wrap up. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring cash, reusable bags and comfortable walking shoes for a full day of bargain hunting.
