A traffic stop on Exchange Street led to drunken driving charges after Geneva police observed a vehicle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign.
Ricardo Resto-Rivera, of Geneva, was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Police said officers stopped the vehicle on May 30 after observing the traffic violation and determined that Resto-Rivera was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
Authorities said further investigation revealed Resto-Rivera had a blood alcohol content of 0.10%, above New York’s legal limit of 0.08%.
