A medical emergency on Interstate 390 led longtime Rochester broadcaster John Kucko to discover he has a brain tumor, according to RochesterFirst.
Kucko said he suffered a seizure while driving home from Letchworth State Park on Tuesday, causing a crash that sent him to the hospital. The former News 8 sports director and anchor shared the diagnosis in a Facebook post and said he will undergo surgery in the coming weeks.
Kucko, a familiar face in Rochester media for more than three decades, plans to attend his daughter’s wedding before treatment begins. He said he won’t be able to drive for a while but intends to continue sharing photos and stories from around the region online.
