A Dundee man was arrested Wednesday night on an active warrant tied to an alleged violation of a stay-away order of protection, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested 59-year-old Stephen D. Chisom of Pre-Emption Road in Dundee around 7:51 p.m. following an investigation connected to a protection order issued through Yates County Court.
Authorities said the arrest warrant was issued by the Town of Starkey Court.
Chisom was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor offense under New York law.
Following the arrest, Chisom was transported to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office where he awaited centralized arraignment proceedings.
