A Wolcott man is facing charges after Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said they found drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop investigation earlier this year.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Shawn P. Viele, 46, of Wolcott, was arrested following an investigation tied to a Jan. 27 traffic stop on Lummisville Road in the town of Wolcott.
Deputies allege Viele was in possession of drug paraphernalia during the investigation. He was charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and also issued citations for failing to signal at least 100 feet before turning and aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.
Authorities said Viele was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing before being released with an appearance ticket.
He is scheduled to appear in Wolcott Village Court on June 18 at 2 p.m.
