Auburn will mark Pride Month in June with nearly two weeks of events aimed at celebrating inclusion, LGBTQ+ history, and the city’s connection to the broader equal rights movement.
Organizers announced the 2026 Auburn Pride celebration will feature performances, lectures, markets, tours, and community gatherings across downtown Auburn, anchored by major events at the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center and Auburn Public Theater.
The celebration begins June 5 during Auburn’s First Friday downtown events and continues throughout the month with programming led by local organizations and community partners.
One of the centerpiece events is scheduled for June 13, when the Equal Rights Heritage Center hosts a Pride Celebration and Queer Market featuring LGBTQ+ vendors, guided tours, performances, speeches, and a family-friendly drag show. Organizers also plan a Pride march around Seward Park that afternoon.
Additional events that day include a Charlotte Cushman lecture at the Equal Rights Heritage Center, a drag queen panel at the Carriage House Theater, and an evening Pride drag show at Auburn Public Theater.
The month’s programming also includes a June 12 performance titled “My Road to Auburn” at Auburn Public Theater and a June 16 Pride-themed open mic night.
Tour Cayuga officials said the events highlight Auburn’s continued ties to equal rights history while positioning the city as a welcoming Finger Lakes destination centered on culture, community, and inclusion.
Organizers said the celebration is designed to connect present-day Pride events with Auburn’s historic role in movements tied to equality and social justice.
