Clifton Springs teen charged under zero tolerance DWI law after domestic incident

An 18-year-old Clifton Springs man was charged early Sunday after Wayne County sheriff’s deputies investigated a reported domestic incident in Palmyra.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested Brayden M. McPherson, of Bedette Road, following an investigation into an incident that had already occurred. Authorities said McPherson submitted to a chemical breath test that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.06%.

Because McPherson is under 21, deputies charged him under New York’s zero tolerance DWI law. He was also charged with driving while ability impaired and driving with open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Deputies transported McPherson to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Building for processing before releasing him on uniform traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
