Two women were arrested in Waterloo after Seneca County sheriff’s deputies said one physically resisted officers and another interfered during the arrest.
According to Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened May 20 at approximately 6:26 p.m. in the Town of Waterloo.
Deputies arrested Teaonna I. Jenkins, 27, of Lyons, charging her with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and second-degree harassment.
Authorities said the charges stem from an incident in which Jenkins allegedly struck and pushed a deputy, subjecting the officer to unwanted physical contact. Deputies said Jenkins then refused lawful commands when officers attempted to detain her and continued physically resisting after being informed she was under arrest.
During the incident, deputies also arrested Kelly J. Mardo, 39, of Rochester, charging her with second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
Investigators allege Mardo interfered with deputies while they attempted to take Jenkins into custody by getting in the officers’ way and pushing a deputy.
Both women were issued appearance tickets and released pending a June 17 appearance in Waterloo Town Court.
