Lansing village voters largely stuck with familiar leadership this spring, according to the Lansing Star, while local officials also began reshaping how future solar and wind projects could receive tax breaks.
Trustees Kathleen Yen and Susan Ainslie won reelection without opposition in the April 28 village election, and Carolyn Greenwald was reappointed deputy mayor. The board also filled planning and zoning positions, including appointing Cornell admissions director Soledad Almeida to the planning board through 2030.
Village leaders also discussed steering future renewable energy tax break negotiations through the Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency instead of handling them directly. Officials said the approach would still allow the village to weigh in on PILOT agreements tied to solar and wind developments.
