Geneva City Council to discuss 2027 budget outlook Thursday

Geneva City Council members are expected to focus on the city’s long-term financial outlook this week during a special discussion centered on the 2027 budget and future fiscal planning.

According to the meeting agenda, council members will review “2027 Budget Direction and Projection Clarification” during a regular meeting scheduled for Thursday evening at City Hall.

The meeting comes as municipalities across the Finger Lakes continue grappling with rising operational costs, infrastructure demands, and uncertainty surrounding state and federal funding streams.

City officials have not publicly released additional details outlining what specific budget projections or policy directions will be discussed.

Following the budget discussion, council members are also expected to enter executive session to discuss the employment of a particular person, according to the agenda.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the second-floor conference room at City Hall on Castle Street.
