Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 18 scoreboard

Monday in the Wayne-Finger Lakes unfolded with no shortage of late-inning drama and a handful of pitching efforts that set the tone across the diamond.

Wayne softball erased a seven-run deficit with a stunning walk-off rally against Palmyra-Macedon, while Midlakes and Waterloo split a pair of tightly contested games decided by one run in each direction. Dundee/Bradfordโ€™s Morgan Sutryk delivered a 16-strikeout gem, Lyons continued to pile up offense behind Kamryn Bonnell and Rylee Richardson, and Mynderse and Waterloo battled through another instant classic with league implications coming down to the final swing.

The Tigers broke the game open early and never let up behind a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching from Ryder Tam. Tam not only earned the win on the mound with nine strikeouts over five innings, but also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and three RBI to pace the offense. Waterloo finished with 10 hits, including multi-hit performances from Luca DiSanto, Logan Schoenheit, and Caleb Mahoney, while Logan Schoenheit added two RBI and two stolen bases. For the Blue Devils, Catalano doubled for one of the teamโ€™s three hits, while Jeremiah Furman and Carter Fisher each reached base, with Fisher also adding a stolen base and a run scored.

The Bombers walked off the Bulldogs in dramatic fashion as Wyand delivered a two-out RBI single to score Marlee Poole with the winning run. Honeoye erased a deficit with four runs in the fifth inning and threatened again with the bases loaded before Addy Falsone made a diving stop and threw out a runner at third to end the inning.

The Bombers completed the doubleheader sweep behind a huge offensive performance from Calla McCombs, who finished with three hits, including a double and triple, while driving in six runs. Maddie Wilson added three hits and two RBI for Bloomfield.

The Lions jumped out early and never looked back behind multi-hit games from Kamryn Bonnell, Rylee Richardson, and Addison VanLare. Bonnell and VanLare each drove in three runs, while Richardson added a triple in the win. Keira Weber earned the victory in the circle, striking out five over three innings, and Lyons added pressure on the bases with four stolen bases and nine walks. For Bishop Kearney, Allie Decker finished with two hits and two RBI.

The Screaming Eagles opened the doubleheader with a dominant five-inning shutout behind Emma LaBour, who was lights-out in the circle, allowing no hits and striking out 10. Camryn Harris sparked the offense with two walks, three stolen bases, and two runs scored, while Kenzie Turner added a double and reached base twice.

The Reds responded in a tight second game, but the Screaming Eagles held on for a one-run victory to complete the sweep. Kenzie Turner earned the win in the circle despite allowing six hits and five runs, while Emma LaBour contributed with five stolen bases and three runs scored despite not pitching in this one. Nevaeh Bowen added an RBI single, and Midlakes did just enough late to secure the win.

Palmyra-Macedon 7

The Eagles rallied from a 7-0 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to complete the comeback win over the Red Raiders. Lauren VanAllen tossed a complete game in the circle for Wayne, while Reese Sinclair delivered the game-winning hit. Savannah Celso added two hits for the Eagles. For Pal-Mac, Shelby Geer went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Addison Jendron collected two doubles.

Morgan Sutryk dominated in the circle for the BraveScots, striking out 16 while allowing just three hits over seven innings. Maeghan Sutryk drove in two runs to lead Dundee/Bradford offensively, while Maddie Knapp added two hits and an RBI. The BraveScots also showed patience at the plate with five walks. For South Seneca/Romulus, Libby Barbay collected two hits and an RBI.

Mynderse 7

The Tigers and Blue Devils split the league championship in a thriller, with Waterloo edging out the win in a back-and-forth finish. The game was tied entering the late innings before the Tigers broke through with a four-run sixth, only for Mynderse to respond in the top of the seventh with a clutch two-out rally to tie it back up. Junior Olivia James delivered the decisive moment, lining a pinch-hit walk-off single to right with two outs to bring home Brook Hack and seal the victory. Tangel Williams, Ava Panek, Gwen DiIorio, Brook Hack, Alexis Godley, and Nina Ninestine all chipped in multi-hit or multi-RBI performances for Waterloo, while DiIorio also earned the win in the circle. For the Blue Devils, Ally Fenton drove in three runs, Mackenzie McCann and Hannah Oโ€™Brien each added two hits, and Haley Young went the distance in the circle.
